02' zx5 Car idle and acceleration acting funny and stalling HELP

We have changed out TPS and IAC. Some other recent repairs listed below:


Ford focus 2002 zx5 ztech automatic 135k miles

Some symptoms:
Car wouldnt start, it would turn on and stall out. We ended up changing out IAC today. It started up fine after and we left it be. we ended up going out shortly after and it didnt want to start, it died out again. A few tries and it started and we went to gas station. It seemed to stop hard, as if stepping on gas and brake. I came to a complete stop and let off brake, it accelerated on its on. I slowed down put it in park in parking spot and it stalled out.


Drove it around a bit more today and it has stalled out a few times at lights or acted as though it wanted to speed up on its own. One time i dropped in neutral to see if could avoid stalling, and it accelerated and RPMs jumped up on its own.


I sprayed gumout didnt notice any changes. It stalled out when putting in drive, a few tries was able to drive.


Any idea on what could cause these symptoms? I was thinking a faulty sensor, leak or something but changed out the ones that came to mind and tired of having the car out of commission.

Idle air control valve IAC
throttle position sensor TPS
upper radiator hose
mass air flow sensor MAF
alternator and tension/idle pulley
battery
valve cover gasket

Sounds ominous of a vacuum leak.
The line coming from the PCV to the intake manifold is a common problem. It's the metal line under the Thermostat Housing. Just follow it and you'll probably find either a hole or a soft spot.

Also, if you didn't do a 'computer reset' after changing the TPS and IAC, it'd be a good idea to do so. Simply pull the battery cables and let it sit for 20 minutes or so. It will take 3 drive cycles for the car to relearn itself. There is no quick learn procedure for the automatic.

Second on the vacuum leak... Maybe a crank position sensor.... Had one on my eclipse 2.0 that would do the same thing...

What did you use for TPS on automatic trans, not one available............
