More questions

I searched Google and got what looks to be like 1 brand of silicone hoses. Where do you all recommend getting all the silicone coolant hoses from? I would prefer a place that offers multiple colors, bc all I've seen are blue ones.

My other question is, does anyone know the best place to get new valve cover bolts? I will be replacing the gasket soon, and the bolts look terrible. Can I go to Westlakes and just match them up, or are they specific ones? Does the new valve cover gasket come with new gromets that go under the bolts?

I had OBX hoses on mine before the motor swap. Never had a problem.

The gasket should come with new grommets. The bolts have the spacer attached so you can't just get them from a hardware store.

Get a wire wheel for $3-$4 and then clean up the bolts and repaint. yes I am sure they offer the bolts or at a bolt store (not HD or Lowes, but actual industrial bolt supply store). but will likely cost a few dollars per bolt. might be cheaper to just have them to a place and sand blast and powder coat if you wanted.

Try CFM

or Summit
http://www.summitracing.com/search/y...cooling-system

I can't say from personal experience, but I heard from a guy that had a set of OBX delaminate and pop a bulge on one of his hoses... might not be typical, but then you usually get what you pay for.

I've got Samco hoses on my car, never had a problem. I work my car pretty hard too, goes up to 6k rpm several times every trip just because I can, hoses are as solid as ever.

not sure how going up to 6k RPM means anything to this post. the car red-lines factor above 6k and many with tunes have it upped to 7 or 7.4k RPM and the factory hoses i have never heard of a failure due to engine speed.

My oem hoses failed after 45k due to the jackass behind the wheel driving it like a racecar all the time. You can ask any of the mechanics who've worked on my car, they've never seen a focus as abused as mine. lol Even Karl @ Massive used those words to describe fixing my car.
