header/o2 install question

Hey guys,
Sorry, this is a copy and paste deal from the other forum. Hopefully I have more luck here!

I'm installing a long tube jba on my car. My question is this. The upstream oxygen sensor doesn't look like its going to make it all the way to the bung, its too short. Do I need to extend the wired or is there something I'm missing? I tried searching endlessly since I got it last week, so don't be that "use the search function" guy. Thanks!

I was just looking at a couple of pictures of the JBA long tube header and can't seem to find where the bung is located for the first o2 sensor. The only bung I am seeing is right at the front of the collector. Is that the one you are talking about? But anyways, if you look closely as to how the sensor is wired, you will see that it is held onto the fan shroud by clips. Just pull those clips out and you should have enough extension on the sensor to reach the first bung on the header.

It's in a harness with what seems to be a power steering sensor that is attached basically at the pump. I don't think that will work because it will pull the whole harness, and I wasn't sure if I could just cut into that harness.

There seems to be a second bung welded on to it, I'm guessing for the second o2 sensor on the right side of it looking at the motor.

Hey,
So you have a couple options
First you can separate the wire covers and expose the wiring just separate the ps pump wires from the 02 sensors i think there is only 2-3 ps and 4 02.
Just make sure you cover the exposed wiring and undo the clips or the zip ties holding on to the fans like Don said.
Pull the wiring under to be able to reach an tie it too something.

2 You can go to a junk yard and cut an 02 sensor at the ends of the sensor too be able to get the whole wiring and just solder the correct wires to each other + shrink wrap and some electrical tape, wire cover + more electrical tape lol cant be to cheap with it.
Its really easy and you just need to look at the connectors and then the wires that they connect to.
I would upload pics but i cant seem to put photos on atm
But basically you would be making an extension harness so it can reach the new 02 location, also you wouldn't have to move the stock 02 wiring connection it would just plug in and boom

Ether way easier fix

Ye the chose is yours, making an extension beats buying one for like 30$.
I made mine for my svt swap got the wiring and wire cover for free at the junk yard :P, only cost me 3$ for shrink wrap had some electrical tape laying around.
