Mac shorty intake

i'm debating between getting a Mac shorty intake, or if i should spend twice as much and go all out AEM cold air.

my friend pointed out that the short intake is still in the engine bay, and isn't actually getting the coldest of air, unless i decided to install a hood scoop, which i don't have the skill or money to do, and the box that is stock in the focus keeps the hot air from the engine out more than just the open intake would.

suggestions are much appreciated!

I have the MAC intake, and I love it. The intake does take in hot ari when the car is not moving, but when your moving it gets plenty of air, and gets plenty of pick up and sounds great. You also don't have to worry about water coming up and ruining your engine. Hope that helps!

In colorado, I dont think the cold air would make a diff, the only times I get bog from my MAC is on like 85+ degree days when the humidity is high. Plus you save A LOT of money...

Dyno results for cold air over sri are usually only like 1-2 whp, not really worth 100 bucks to me, but if it is to you then go for it lol

sound is not the best, I think it can sound a little ricey. But then I got FR2's and all I hear is ballz out MADNESS!! lol
