Heads and Cams Question

What types of performance gains can be expect for adding CNC/port heads?
And can anyone reccomend a head and cam combo for me?

Thanks

I would use the Ford Racing head without a doubt. Put cams that fit the RPM range of where you want your power to be. I like the FR 2 cams for daily drivers and all around performance without having to rev it to make power. I have tested practically every cam grind. These cams give the best torque curve.

FR2's are good daily used cams with decent duration to produce torque that last untill you rev limiter for stock applications... but what i don't understand is why even the FR3's don't have positive overlap?, is it because the engine doesn't like overlap or is it like this with F/I in consideration?, so why there's no Positive but negitive overlap with those FR's?

definately go with the FR head, best bang for the buck. and like Ray said the cams should be picked out for your desired powerband, but if you go with a high revving cam, you'll need to upgrade the valvetrain so there isn't any valve float or clearance problems

Haven't tried them with a turbo setup. With the overlap dialed out they might be OK.

Ray, I know your recommendation on cams is Ford Racing Stage2 for daily drivers.

What additional performance advantage do you get if you add both the FR2 cams and FR Cylinder head ?

My specific concern is: will I be sacrificing low end torque with this combination?

ps Currently have Pipercross Viper induction, Pipercross intake pipe from MAF to throttle body, Ford Racing longtube header, RT high flow cat, 2.25 flex. 2.25" catback. Focus is 5 speed manual

With those cams you will not sacrifice any bottomend. The FR head milled .040 with FR 2 cams were making about 150 to 155 whp and 140 to 145 wtq. The range is from 2 to 6700.
