everyone is gonna tell u to use the search button because this topic has been discussed over and over again......heres a hint check your TPS (throttle postion sensor).

crobro24 04-05-2004 08:36 PM

TPS is fine its in its spot
idle rough thou at low rpms

yellowbean00 04-05-2004 08:50 PM

u sure u had the tps in the right spot because there are different rotations on the tps on 5 spd or automatic if that does not work check your idle screw it could be out of wack.

adjust the idle screw. should barely make contact with the plate

take a 3mm allen wrench and turn the idle screw till u hear the rpm's come up the let it set for a munite, then back it off and keep checking ur tach till it is at about 800 rpm when idling.

Which TB did you install ?

Stock or aftermarket 65mm TB ?

BlkZX3 04-06-2004 04:27 PM

Thats what mine did when I forgot to re-connect the MAF, belive it or not the car still runs, I assume you've checked that though.

crobro24 04-06-2004 04:36 PM

well took it out FC TB put old one back in yah screws that hold the plate where the cables go in came out which is retarded.......hanging rpms dont know why..also are u sure that for a 2003 mtx its the 2003 atx TPS screws

crobro24 04-06-2004 09:45 PM

also the bracket that comes with the TB for the cables its kinda offset on mine like i got no play from it just wondering if anyone else has that problem..and it looks like ill be waiting a bit to re-install it. Pretty sure it was a leak causing the hanging RPM's..if anyones had problems with it would u let me know this way i can look out for that stuff!
