New rims or new tires?

Within the next couple months I'm going to be looking into rims or new tires. I can't decide which though-the car is a used one so I'm sure it could use new tires..but I don't want new tires and crappy rims! And I definitely can't buy both at once.

What do you suggest?

Well, depending on your budget, you can usually find a set of rims+tires on ebay for around $400+ shipping.

Also, depending on if you're going 15, 16 or 17, the cost will be a lot different for a rim+tire combo.

What size do you have now ?

save up for both, else just get new tires
you can only do what money allows...

how used are the tires. I forget but i think most tires have 8/32" of tread, once you get to 2/32" or 3/32"... i'd say it's about time... Tires usually have bar's that become flush with the tread. once that happens it's a good time to replace the tires.
