1.5 drop springs on svt

i have 1.5 inch drop springs ready to install on svt on 18x7.5-42mm offset wheels and 215/35/18 tires.

I know I should replace my dampeners and rear shocks also correct?

Are the dropzone gas racing shocks and struts okay, or do they suck?

Is the roush stage 2 kit any good on 1.5" drop?

Sprint Racing makes a full kit of shocks struts and springs...anyone have xperience?

Thanks

That's a pretty severe drop, definitely not a performance mod by any stretch of the term since the rear suspension is already travel limited. Ride and handling will suffer no matter what you do.

Moving to "Wheels, Tires, Brakes & Suspension"....

In all actuality, those 1.5" springs will only net you a 3/4" drop on the SVTF,
since their springs are already 1/2-3/4" lower than the standard model.

Any time you put drop springs on, you should buy new dampeners to match them.
Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with the brand you mentioned.

Beware with the 42mm offset wheels as well.
Most likely, you won't have a big problem, but chances are, you'll have rubbing issues over large bumps and dips.

Try doing a little bit of research in the "Wheels, Tires, Brakes & Suspension" forums.
There's a lot of good info to be had, with just a little searching on your part.

Just a quick one netted these threads...>>>Clicky.
I put in "SVT* AND drop" for the search.

Would just dropping the rear of my car 1.5" springs with roush shocks, be retarded? Or could I gain style/handleing?

What can I do to make my stock svtf (I have focus sport strut bar) handle better? (minus tires, just purchased a set of NS2s)

An anti roll kit would make it handle better. If you are going to put a drop on the car, do not buy springs and shocks from ebay, i've heard horror stories. Like... the dropzone ones you mentioned, a guy bought his svt from the dealer and everytime the roads were uneven or something his car would give an awful noise because of them (horrid rubbing). Like wd said, svts are already lowered around .5-.75 than normal foci, so adjust the drop accordingly to what the companies tell you. Good luck with whatever it is you're doing.

I've never heard of Dropzone struts but I believe lots of their springs are on eBay, and I do hear those suck.

Check out hotfocus's "Springs" thread in the Member FAQ & HowTo Forum... he outlines like every sping/shock out there, look for Summit or Dropzone.
