Best auto-x/ track tire for the money!!

just put on sumitohmo htzrII. they were 88 bucks a tire for my svt rims. treadwear is 220. they r sticky as hell. you cant get anyhtign at that prioce that even compares. only things that compare or r better start around 115 and up per tire. if you want a great itre for the street that can stick liek crazy for u at the track or an auto-x i woudl recoomend these highly!!

www.tires.com

Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212 (got mine in a 215/45/16 for my Rota Grid's)

$89 a pop IIRC...

200 Tread wear...BARLEY a "stock tire" right on the verge of being R-Compound..

they dont make them in a 215/45/17 though and they arent bad tiered but the sumi's have alot stiffer side wall. hanook are stickier but the sumi's harder side wall will keep that traction better

I agree. The Kumho Ecsta MX is the best tire for both the road and the track. You won't regret it.

yeah they r good but 30 dollars more a tire. the sumi's are so so close to the mx that its not worht justifing another 120 for a set of tires in my opioon. the sumi's dotn have the big namke yet the kumho's do but have equal performance.

i used to run the kumho supra 712's, now i'm finding a liking for my kumho's asx.

main difference is asx is an all season tire, excellent for wet roads during spring.

ever used nitto 555r drag radials?

i hear those things are actually used on autocross courses in Japan.

i had a set of those in the front of my ZX2, and when inflated correctly would not give up lateral grip in the slightest, and actually delivered a smooth ride w/o lots of tire noise.

horrible wet weather tires though - slicker than s(*t if there was a hint of rain.

i actually drove around w/ that set on my car for 18,000 miles before they went bald.
