PlastiDiped rims

if I put 5 coats of plastidip on the front and inside of the rim would I need to get my tires roatated? I never really got into balancing tires so I know squat about it. I just know the wheels and tires need to be balanced but I didn't know if plastidiping front and inside the rim would make them unbalanced.

I've had my rims plastidipped for around 7k miles and havent had a problem with them. I'm no expert on tires or rims, but it's such a small difference that I dont think it would hurt anything.

Dipyourcar measured that for an entire car (6 coats) it's about 1.5 pounds. It's not nearly enough when you consider how much smaller wheels are to throw anything off.

You should be fine. The dip will be pretty evenly distributed so shouldn't affect the balance.

Also, rotating tires is separate from balancing; you can do one and not the other or both at the same time. Rotating tires ever 5k or so is a good idea anyways and is something you can do your self if you have jack stands.

I haven't done it yet because im still out of the states but when I get home it will be right before NY winter so ill be doing them to test the plastidip color and to try and seal the rim from the road salt from the winter. my sedan is a light metallic blue almost like a baby blue I think I might try out white for the first color but I might do each rim a different color. im still hung up on the color I want to do but im definently doing it tho. when I do it ill make sure to post many pictures of the rims front and back

From my personal experience, white is such a pain in the butt to keep clean. I swear i was getting O.C.D. and washing my old car every damn day.

An aluminum or dark Anthracite color would look nice with the light blue. You can also make "custom" colors by adding pigments, pearls, flakes etc into clear plastidip. Some pretty sweet colors if your creative. Google how to do it.
