I had the Coopers on the used 2103 hatchback I bought. The car had 33,000 miles on it when I bought it, and the Coopers had a lot of tread left. I only changed them shortly after I bought the car because two tires were badly feathered (enough to make the whole car shake) due to a bad alignment (toe was off quite a bit). The only reason I didn't replace them with the Coopers (I went with Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval AS) was the Coopers weren't readily available in my area.

Are those Cooper's a a/s tire or a wet/dry tire? What else tires did you look at/ checkout?

Can anyone report on how their RS3-A's did after reaching 30k? My Ford dealer told me they are going to fail PA inspection and must be replaced. I wanted to know if this is reasonable for this tire.

Thanks.

Thanks.

While I do have a set, I am not anywhere near 30K, although I expect to get around 30K out of them. Tire ratings are like EPA ratings, the best possible outcome. I don't drive crazy, but will occasionally light up an on ramp or off ramp, or a mountain dash in Mexico ;). Hence my expectation for ~30K.

Got 48ish out of mine. Rotate every 7.5 (oil change) and keep them inflated properly.

jcw122,
Ask the dealer for the specific reason your tires will fail. I got 49k out of mine, they still had tread above the wear bars, but had gotten noisy and I think were starting to delaminate. it is possible to wear out tires in 30k miles, but not likely all four at once. have you looked at alignment?

After much research, I purchased a set of RS3-A for my 2011 Focus SES 215/45/17. They were ranked a best buy by consumer reports and ranked 5th overall in the entire catagory, Ultra HP All Season. Even the Nitto Motivos I had prior were ranked towards the bottom. 40K mileage warranty is so/so for a W rated tire. No flaws were found by CR.
When I got my 2014 Focus it had these tires already so I don't need to change them out.
They are the All Season version of the tire designed for the Roush Stage III Mustang. Cooper's Technical Advisor is Johnny Unser from the Unser Racing family.
