Installing coilovers this weekend. couple quick questions.
whats going on guys? So I picked up a set of coilovers last weekend from a ff member, and plan on installing them on my 05 st this weekend. But Ive just got a couple questions.
1) what month did the 05 knuckle diameter change? Im trying to figure out if Ill need the shim kit or not?
2) how should I go about adjusting my setup? I/E set to highest and adjust down/ lowest and adjust up/ or start from a middle ground ?
3) does anyone have any tips/tricks to throw in from their own experience to speed up the process or make the job any easier?
Thanks guys I cant wait to get this thing down some I feel akward driving a car that sits considerably higher than my truck[thumbd]

#2 what size tire do you have? Because the factory size tire I had didn't rub but was low with out rubbing everything in the world
#3 and like I told you when we traded put some oil or antiseze on the part that you put into the front knuckle, the rear is going to be a b##ch unless you want to replace the lower control arms because the bushing get seized take the sway bar links off and out of the way I would probably replace the links unless you have before then take the the two bolts off that are on the part of the main control blade for the suspension

Thanks for the help Im pretty sure the tires are still factory size or close(not positive without running out and checking) as for the rear I was thinking about renting a spring compressor to help it go a little smoother. Ive tore the suspension apart on my truck more times then id like to mention so Ive got a little experience(not sure what all will transfer over to the car?) Ive just got no experience with adjusting coilovers whatsoever.
But Ill definately get some pics your way when I get it done.

be prepared to have to fight the rear lower control arm bolts. they tend to seize in the bushings.

The way I had it setup when you picked it up I had a finger width gap between the tire and the fender liner on the front with a factory size tire, the rear I would probably go lower

ok Ive messed with the rear alittle just messing around but havent touched the fronts yet, so ill put them in how they are and adjust from there if I need too. On the rear I planned to remove the shocks and compress the springs as much as possible and hopefully avoid messing with the controll arm bolt. Seems like ive seen It done that way in a thread somewhere? Works in my head?

be careful that way is asking for a spring to the chest. i think I got lucky when I did mine last time and was able to droop the arm enough to get the spring out but that was when I had intrax 2in drop springs. I was able to put my adjusters just right to get the new coil-over springs in without undoing the bolt.

Yeah. I'd use spring compressors as long as I could fit them in there if not I guess I'll have to bust out the torch and get to work on the control arm bolt

Can you get that bolt out at all? If so you can coax it with an impact and using a pry bar or something to put an outward force on the bolt. That is what i had to do one time to remove the bolts.( I have had 4 different setups in 4 years)
