Better Handling?

First post, just bought an 06 ZXW. Handling needs to improve.

Part #'s for front and rear sway bars, or recommendations for upgrades will be appreciated!

Thanks,
Moose

How far do you want go? How low? How big of sway bars? For the front is a 21mm, you have a choice of eibachs 22mm & h&rs 24mm. For the rear 20mm svt/ eibachs 25mm/ steeda's race one 28,6mm. What kind of ride can you deal w/? DD, I take it? 1st get the ''Omni kit" from Massive Performance & the get Eibach's sportline system, that'll get you a 2''/2.2'' drop & then add eibachs sway bar kit= 22mm/25mm. That'll get you started. Don't forget to checkout the N/W section for the next g2g meeting.

Hi Felix and Ed, thanks for your advice. I don't want to go to any extreme changes, but I have noticed that there is way more body roll than I am used to. Was hoping that there were some Ford parts I could lok at without any big investment. Perhaps if my Focus already has front and rear sway bars, I should try the poly in place of the rubber as Ed suggested.

Thanks!!

Scott

Ford SVT shocks and springs, complete set is $300 and highly recommended (the 06 has a different part number than the true SVT parts).

The ford racing dampners and springs are another option; they are a little more money, a little stiffer, and the car sits a little lower.

Eibach front and rear swaybar set, about $240

That combo will give you a nice, predictable, flat cornering Focus without making the ride more harsh or stiff.

The dampners/springs will be tricky, he has a wagon...I'm guessing the wagon will have some more natural body roll just because of the extra car out back as well.

Try here, I believe they carry some wagon parts:
http://www.batinc.net/focus.htm

Parts from 00-05 will still work but you will need the omni-kit from massive to make the front struts fit.

Is the rear sway bar the same in the wagon as the other models? I'm looking into poly bushings so I'm wondering :)

Oops, sorry and thanks. I didn't see the post was moved and and I had re-posted (zxw body roll), that one can be deleted.

Thanks for the help and for the welcome! I look forward to learning more about my Focus and sharing info where I can.

Moose
