Coilovers on my sedan

Silly question time... I'm good under the hood. I also have installed some vogtland lowering springs. Here goes.... I'm going to pick up a coilover conversion kit tomorrow, are they compatible with my stock lower control arms? Also, how difficult is it to install? I'm relatively newish to major suspension work, any insight would make my day. Thanks a bunch!

What coilovers did you get? They shouldn't require any modification to get them in. Did you install the Vogtlands yourself? Should be as simple as taking the old assembly out and replacing it with the coilover set. But I could be very wrong.

I did the Vogtlands myself not even a month ago... My biggest ass-pain with those was my rear lower control arm bushings going kaput. It was a long and drawn out process. But other than that it was easy and went without too much incident. By the way I'm not exactly sure what brand they were but I'm getting them from a guy who had a SVT, and he seems to know what's good and what's junk, so they're probably at least decent. Also, they're adjustable. He said everything should mount right up, and for the price I'm paying, I don't care if they end up as sweet garage ornaments.... Anyway, thank you for your knowledge! I'll be sure to figure out how to post pictures lol...

If they're coming off an SVT then they'll swap right onto your 2004. Since you did it all yourself its the same process, just easier because you won't have to deal with broken rear LCA bushings since you replaced them.

Lol good to hear, thanks a bunch! Luckily I put a little bearing grease in the bushings (where the bolts go through) when I installed my new LCA's on the rear so they wouldn't seize up like when I pulled the old ones out... I also used new eccentric bolts/washers ($75 from my local Ford dealer) and new grade 8 hardware errywhere else, so all should go smooth.

Make sure you get it aligned too when you're all said and done.

Oh I already have an appointment for that at my old shop. I have the box, its an ebay set, it says "super high technology," and "2000-2003 Focus sedan/hatchback" on it. Could you post a pic of how these go together? I know I have to cut the old seat, leave the weld... but idk from there haha.

I hate saying this, but if its a collar-over-strut coilover conversion kit and they aren't made by Ground Control, I doubt I'd bother installing them. The majority of ebay coilover kits have collars that don't fit tightly on the strut (they'll rattle if not tight), have a poor selection of spring rates (usually way too stiff) and many of the springs are known to sag after a few miles (poor steel) and collar materials bend and corrode (poor quality aluminum and anodizing which effects future adjustability).
