Acquired 17" wheels need tire recommendations

as the title states I just got some 17" msr wheels off craigslist. pictured.

New wheels by Avie Lynn, on Flickr

the guy was running two different sizes on them, 215/45 17 and 235/45 17 I just want to know what size would be appropriate on my focus? 215/45 r17 or 205/45 r17 I just dunno...I currently have my 16" stocks on that have 205/50 on them. suggestions?

thanks.

either the 215.45/17 or 205.45/17 will work well. 205 should be closer to the diameter of your stock tires now but the difference is pretty small. SVT's came from Ford with 215.45/17s. the 205's might be slightly less expensive as well...Other than that, you should be able to find plenty of choices in both sizes.

you can check out the size differences between the different tires here

Based on reviews on several sites the Yokohama Avid ENVigor appears to be the best jack of all trades tire, and I plan to purchase with the next few weeks.

Popular tire on this site seem to be:

All Season:
General G-Max AS-03
Continental Extreme Contact DWS
Kumho Ecsta AST or 4X

For Bridgestone, the RE760 summer tire and the RE970 all season tire are both well recieved but are a little more money from what I've seen. I had a roommate who worked at firestone for several years and talked highly of the feedback the RE960's/ RE970's got

In my area, mainly because of Les Schwab, Toyo Proxes 4 are extremely popular. It's the go-to performance tire because Schwab has a very limited product range but large customer base. I see it on tons of cars!

Best tire I have purchased were Pirelli P-Zero Nero's, the all season version, but they are in limited, mostly larger sizes.
