Creaking/rattling noise, 2009 Focus SEL Sedan

Hi everyone, forgive me if this is not in the right sub forum but my gut tells me this is suspension related.

I picked up a 2009 SEL Sedan a couple months ago, and recently I have been hearing what can only be described as a creaking/rattling noise, think like a muted morse code signal.

It appears to come from the rear of the vehicle, more pronounced on the passenger side, and can be heard from outside the vehicle (around midship of the vehicle) at slow speeds

From inside the cabin, the noise can be heard whether the car is in gear (drive or reverse) or in neutral and moving.

On paved roads without going over bumps it is audible at slow, moderate and highway speeds and becomes more pronounced when making left/right turns.

On gravel roads at low speeds the frequency of the sound intensifies.

Is this bushing related, is this normal? When I purchased the car it had 25,062 KMs and since owning it I have put approximately 1200 KM's. It has 2 years or 75,000km remaining on the Ford Premium Care Extended Warranty.

I have a service appointment at my local Ford dealership tomorrow, but would like to have a more educated idea as to what the problem could be.

One final note, the sound is definitely more apparent without a passenger in the front seat.

Sounds like the coating on the e-brake cable wore through to the metal casing. Happened to me twice under warranty but the dealerships fix failed everytime. The problem would be right in front of the rear tires where it goes through a bracket. I took some rubber tubing and cut it in half and put it through the bracket. Haven't had a problem since.

Awesome, thanks for the quick response. I can give this information to the service advisor when I take my car in.

If I check this out myself before taking it in, what specifically am I looking for. I haven't looked under this car yet so I don't know how the e-brake cable is routed underneath the car

THANK YOU! This has been driving me crazy trying to figure out where its coming from. It only makes noise while moving so I've had no way of diag'ing it.

The cable goes through the I hook. I put the tubing in and zip tied it on either side. Been about 30k and haven't had an issue.
