Tire size

I just bought my wheels the other day, a 17x7 fifteen spoke. And I need to know what tire size would be good. I know the car calls for a 215/45ZR17. But im on a 2 1/4 drop so I was thinking I should go with a 40 series on them but I dont know what width would work. Any guidance would help right now!

215-45x17 is your best bet w/ a lot more choices for a 7'' wheel

A 40 series tire that would fit a 7'' wheel= a 215/40. A 235/40 needs at least a 7.5'' if not an 8'' wheel. You won't have any issues w/ the popular 215/45's. And that gives you more tire choice's too. I have 215/45's w/ a 2.2''/2.0'' drop. The ride is so much better & it'll take some pot holes alot better than a 40 series tire.

You can do 205/45R17. Only about 3/16th shorter sidewall and 1cm less in width if you're worried about rubbing. Thats what I'm running on my Sparco Pistas 17x7 and also what Tire Rack recommends for that wheel size.

For ~$90 a tire, they're awesome. Sidewalls could be a little stiffer but for the price I'm not complaining.

So cornering speeds decrease and feel floaty, but then I imagine its practical for daily right?

Not really floaty but you can feel the sidewall rebounding a little bit in the back. I like them a lot and will be buying another set when I need new tires. Haven't had any traction issues even in the rain.
