i feel ya man! the Continentals are back on the list... might bite the bullet on those instead. as you can see my mind changes quite often. as it turns out, if i can limit my purchasing of a ton of Snapple drinks & such they should be well within the budget.

Why do you say the Dunlops are better? I have had the Eagles for 3 years now and am very happy. Do not seem loud to me. Only use for the summer though in Winnipeg, MB. They say all season but just look at the tread. That won't go in the snow. Need snow tires.

I've gotten a fair amount if feedback on the DWS from a few other car forums I'm on and including a few local guys who run the same roads I do and the DWS is one that seemed to have the consistent good responses but they do get a few complaints about their hard cornering grip but for me the wet traction is more of a safety thing when driving the speed limit but even then I don't really have any complaints about the dry grip and have been quite predictable when they start to let loose.

I 2nd that too ^^^^^. I fine that they fall off for dry grip, having a torsen helps thou. Like was said above, I have these dws's for the wet grip & icy conditions. They are great under hard cornering in wet & rainy conditions. If I didn't have to deal w/ icy crappy roads in the winter, then I'd be on Dunlop star specs.

Even though it sounds like you're made up your mind I didn't want this to go unanswered. While the DWS is not equivalent to a dedicated snow tire for snow use, it has proven to have superior snow performance than just about any other all season tire (Nokian all season tires may be the only exception and they are not easily found and cost an arm and a leg if you do find them). It's pretty much the only true "all" season tire that's readily available.

for that price I'd try them out to lol. I've ran Eagle GT HR's and Currently have worn out Eagle GT's on the SVT. Loved the HR's in the 15" stock size. Got about 20-25k mi out them (not so much the first set due to me being burn out happy). I like them due to the decent dry grip and not so bad wet grip, but ultimately it was the price I liked too. Now that being said they are hella expensive in the 17" size compared to the 15's and I probably try something cheaper on the SVT. I also have used the continentals on my 16's and those damn things lasted for EVER. Can't give a approximate amount of mileage they had cause they were used when I got them but it's a lot, probably 30 maybe even 40k mi? They are still on Yeller' right now but are bald bald bald and have no grip left in dry or wet, the worn GT's on the 17's grip way better as they should.
