16" rims vs 17" rims

I have a red svt with black Eap's on my car now, but i would like to switch to the gold xxr 522's. I would have to go with the 16x7's instead of the 17x8 because im having rubbing problems with my tires and coils now. My plan is to go with a 205/40/16 tire instead of my 215/45/17 now. I am lowered on TA Technix coil overs. I guess my question is how would a 16" rim look on a lowered svt? Thanks

Here is the link to the rims:

I think a 205/40/16 tire will look silly small.

Seems like you have the wrong offset if your rubbing coils now. Your on your stock size tire now being 'bout 24'6'' outside diameter & your looking at 205/40-16's? Those would get you a 22.9'' outside diameter & hard to find tire size. You'd get a lowered ride height & you'd lose about 1.7'' outside diameter.& you gain a gap between your tires & fenders, then you lower your car more, if the coilovers will even go that far down. What are you going to be scraping on= not your header? I'd switch out the wheels w/ a different offset & keep the 17''s. & that gives you more room for a BBK too.

Well I fixed my rubbing problem by putting my 10mm spacers on the front and if you looked at the website for the wheels the offset is +43 and the stock offset is +49. Yes its not much but it will still move the wheel farther away and i will still have my spacer just in case. Mitchell has been the one helping me with all of this and he has a 17x8 with a 205/40/17 and it looks really good. Its hard to find a lot of wheel options with the 4x108 bolt pattern. So if you would like to throw some suggestions for some 17x7 wheels, that would help.

17x7 wheels, Thats a personal choice. I like the SVT wheels myself. And you have a choice of styles too. There are a few wheels that look great on a Foci. Has anyone ever stripped the paint off a SVT wheel & polished it up?

Well the only reason i said 17x7 is because thats the stock size. If i cant find any aftermarket wheels that i like i might just end up getting some 5 spoke svt's and get them powdercoated white. I also get deals on tires so thats not a big deal. I still need to get my fenders rolled and pulled also.
