Shaking from back of car, not wheels or shocks.

I get a pretty significant shaking from the back of my car when I get up to around 50 mph and it continues until about 75 mph before it smoothes out again. It's not my tires, wheels, or shocks. Any other ideas? I think if it was the bearings, it would always shake no matter what speed, but I could be wrong. Let me know if anybody else has had this experience.

Thanks!

when the bearing went on my escort, there was dragging and later (like couple miles or so) a grinding noise and that was like all speeds just worse. but how do you know its is not the tires, wheels or shocks? to me it seems like a wheel is out of balance. i had half of the tire weights fall of one of my wheels once.

I replaced the shocks last month. But, I guess the weights could have come off my wheels because the tires have been on there a couple years.

not to sound like a douche, but how long before or after you replaced your shocks did it start? only reason i ask is do you have everything torqued down to the recommended specs? also were the shocks oem or the frpp kit, but i still think its the wheels. you might need an alignment perhaps.

The shaking has been going on for quite a while before I replaced my shocks. The back wheels can be aligned? I have never had an alignment done on the car, it's got 160,000 miles.

Get an alignment! also make sure your bushing aren't worn out.
