Thought the Dunlop would do better, heard it did really good on the tirerack tests. I was gonna get them but might have to reconsider. Although i believe it is still the cheapest.

Not long ago the Falken was the king of the class...and for awhile it was the only tire in this class (they invented it). Tells you how far tire technology has come in a few years. Any of these would give dedicated racing rubber a run for their money 15 to 20 years ago. While these times may tell you what may be the fastest tires around the cones, please keep in mind it says little about ride quality or endurance especially if used on the street.

Falkens are good tires, I have some on right now, but it realy seems performance wise they are behind the competition in this test.
I am looking for a dedicated track tire, but don't want to spent $200 per tire for R compounds. So I guess the Dunlops aren't bad for $105 per tire, although they didnt do to well on this test. I also heard they grab better then anything in the category in wet conditions.
I heard though that R compounds last longer then performance tires under hard driving like a track day or autocross event, is that true?

Gotta keep up with the times Falken, an old Bridgestone tire is almost a full second faster . The XS and RE-11 are brand new designs. I'm amazed that the RE-11 is .2 faster than the RE-01R. I read good things about the tire in some bfrc emails but I can't believe it is actually that much faster.
