Tire help!!!

Hello all!!! I am on my second Focus now, and loving it. I have a 2005 Focus ST. On Friday, I am going to pick up some 225x40x18's I found off craigslist.com. The rims are ICW 618 MB's with a 42 offset. The tires are Kumho ECTSA's. I have stock suspension. I ran them by the ford dealership here and they told me they are 99% sure they will fit without any problems....What do you think? The tires I am picking up have excelletn tread left and rims are in good shape. The price is unbeatable.

As long as you are at stock ride height you won't have any problem. What are the offset of the wheels themselves? I don't think that the offset cause the tires to rub the inner fender well but I would check just to make sure you have clearance. Usually the rubbing is caused when you mark sharp turns. And if the price is right go for it.

42 offset. 5.90 back spacing (whatever that means) 18x7.5.

I don't know where they came from. A bank owns them as a payoff for a debt from a client. When I go down to pick them up this Friday, I will be putting them on and riding them home (2 hour drive at 70 speed limit) Anything I should be aware of? If they fit, just go with it? I use tuner/lock lugs, right? here is an image of the rims. Might paint them after I get em'....we'll see.

make sure they are the 4X108 lug pattern or you are just wasting a trip there. Most likely they are not.

I am positive they are a 4x108 pattern. They are also 4x100. The man selling them was very clear that they are definately 4x108. Otherwise they are good? Do I need to worry about anything for the drive home? Spcific lugs or just tuner lugs? Etc. Thanks for all the replies and help!

should be fine for the drive home if they are straight and not bent at all.

I picked up the rims and tires today and put them on. Then I drove them all the way home (2 1/2 hours. They rode excellent and fit very well. There was RARE rubbing when I would go over big dips in the road. The rubbing was in the back, never in the front. But, I did have four 16" wheels and snow tires in the back and one sandbag. When I got home and took all the heavy stuff out of the back, I took it for a ride down to the lake. It didn't rub once. SWEET!!! The rims and tires look great! I'll be uploading some images this weekend sometime.
