The slots give you no better breaking performance. You can keep your system in top notch shape with new rotors, GOOD quality pads and fresh brake fluid, but to REALLY improve it you can do a brake swap ( SVT brakes FTW) . I did the SVT swap on my car and I also did stainless lines at the same time.
The stainless lines help by keeping all your pedal pressure where it should be, in the brake calipers, not in bulging rubber lines.
So, if they have gotten soft and spungy, the new pads and rotors can help bring them back to new again. I would swap out the old fluid and bleed fresh through as well.

See you could be basing this off of how bad your previous set up was. If your previous set up was crap and you replaced it with new stuff, i sure would hope that it's better. The ONLY place were you would notice a difference with slotted rotors would be a track. But they still don't compare to my stock SVT Brake set up with Hawk Pads. The SVT Brakes have a lot bigger rotor which means more cooling surface. With out even trying, i can stop a heck of a lot better with the SVT Brake set up compared to my Power slot Rotors and Hawk Pads and EBC Slotted and dimpled Rotors and EBC Greenstuff Pads (got the whole EBC rotor and pad set up for $100 new...sue me)

I will agree that i warped my stock rotors twice before i went to my Powerslot/Hawk Pad set up. I was afraid to come to a stop from Highway Speeds for fear of warping my rotors. The Power Slots fixed that issue and i really really liked them, but they don't have near the stopping power of my SVT Brake set up.

I have the power slots on my Fofo. Everything is good.

Braking is better then stock. Include some blizzaks and power slots equals almost stopping on a dime.

remember, breaking isn't about the breaks, its about the tires. the stock brakes SHOULD be able to lock up most street tires. its how sticky ur tires are that will stop you quicker. (i still was never able to lock up my Rcomps, though i did flat spot the when i slid.)

you should not be allowed to comment until you learn how to spell brakes.
