ST Rear Pads Worn Out @ 36K -- Fronts Still OK?!?

Hi all,

I've never had rear pads go before the front ones. My front pads still have 3/16" or more left, yet the backs are completely gone?

Is my car trying to tell me something?

Maybe the hand-brake came setup wrong from the factory? Something else?

Thanks!

I'd guess the parking brake is not fully releasing or there is something else causing the pads to drag (caliper slider pins not properly lubricated or corroded).

I have an 06 ST with 65k, and ive never touched my brakes. They are at that point though. Its probably the slide pins froze like geezy said. 65k might be a record?

depends on the car.

nissans will go through nearly 2 rear sets before the fronts need replaced.

1 rear set under warranty at 10k or so
and another rear set at about 50k

My ST was the same. Was around 30k when I changed the rears for the first time. The fronts still had some meat left. Kinda strange.
