Will they rub?

I plan on putting these

17x7, 42 offset

and these

215/45/17

on the focus once its lowered 1.6"

Anyone out there have a similar setup on their 08+? Anyone think they will rub?

ahh those are sexy whered u find em. and yes they most likely should since your drop isnt too drastic. ive seen zx3's with a 2" drop and theyre running 18x8 (super thin tires) but im sure you can do it. post pics when u get em! 2009 would look sick with these

I have 18's on my zx5 and run a wide 215 40 r 18. I still have room for a 1.5- 1.7' drop.

alright i have these:

mine are 17x7 w/ a 45 offset and run a 215/45/17 tire on mine (size your looking at)

i have the '08 coupe, and when there is someone in the back and i make sharp turns the back wheels rub on a little piece inside the wheel well.... mostly a screw that holds the bumper on and a corner of the tab where screw is. i just might try to grind it down a bit, but thats for another time.

also, when i go speed limit over some dips or bumps i get a little rubbing.

its becase its a little wider than stock so it doesn't quite fit in the well, looks cool, especially the front.....

i say get them!!!!!!

Are you lowered? My car will probably act the same as yours, and i dont really plan on cramming people in the back, its not like a got a 4dr that SHOULD have ample room for rear passengers........oh.....wait.....yeah i did. I can deal with a little rubbing over speedbumps, i was most concerened with turning and maybe how it would act doing auto X. Thanks

nope, not lowered yet, you might not even have a problem if its 4-dr, my neighbor has an 08 mazda 3 (4dr) that he put 18's on and he hasn't said anything about rubbing....
i don't ever rub w/ turning, unless there is someone in the back, plus, its mostly myself so nothing ever really happens.

you can see what mine look like here...first pics of car on here...enjoy(56k=no go:))

there are shots from a couple different angles, ill try to get a few of the rubbing areas for you tom.
