Question Brembo Gt Big Brake Kit VS AP Racing Formula Brake Kit.

Long story short, I've been looking for better brakes for some track days.
I'm looking at the Brembo Gran Turismo 328mm and the AP Racing Formula brake kit.
Can anyone tell me anything about either package?
I'm leaning more torwards the Brembo's atm.
Next question is the wheel fitment, using the Saleen 17x7 40mm rims, will there be a clearance issue?
Anything I need to be aware of?

Thanks in advance.

youshouldn't have any problems w/ clearance on 17 inch rims.

IMO brembos or anything of that nature would be pure overkill unless the car is a dedicated road racing car seeing a multitude of road racing events each year. Now if your thinking maybe 2, 3, or 4 track days a year then they turn into a show piece hardly worth the investment... That being said, I am going to recommend the SVT brake kit with a nice set of pads so you can rid yourself of those rear drums.

Think of where that extra $2100 dollars could go...

guessing your saleen didn't come with the 12" brembo kit. it if did they there will be a spacer on the wheel so they will clear the saleen wheels. so you may have to get spacers , longer wheel stubs and open ended lug nuts.

After lots more research and sleeping, I have made my decision.
I ordered this morning the Brembo 305mm Kit w/ blue pads, got a killer deal, sucky thing is I have to wait 4 weeks since its "special order", boo.
After thinking about it, the 328mm kit really just seemed like a little to much for the focus.

No I didn't want to pay saleen's price for their package. As far as the spacers and everything else, I guess I can order some and return them if I don't need them. But if recall correctly, Saleen DID NOT use spacers w/ their 12 inch brakes, offsets were 40mm front and 49mm rear.

I have already ordered the SVT Rear Brake Kit from Ford Racing. I can't stand the drums. I don't think I need to explain why I hate them, you all know why.

Well sweet deal. Be sure to get pics up for all to see when you get them on, we all love big brake kits.

Well, I started installing the Brembo's and came into some problems.

The brakes require 15mm spacers with the saleen wheels (so thank you CT SVT for reminding me of the spacers). 5mm is too small, well the 5mm fits but I wouldn't be able to fit a strand of hair between the caliper and the wheel spoke, not good when the caliper heats up and expands. Anyways, I will be finishing the install tomorrow and have pic's then...
