Need to tighten the ride

I used to drive an 01 Tiburon which I replaced the shocks on with KYB struts
(which were apparently the OEM replacement on that car) and man was my car tight in turns, of course it was a tad of a stiffer ride, but I didn't have much body roll or sway.

Anyhow I've traded that car in for an 07 Focus ZX4 ST recently which from what I hear has the same struts from an SVT, but the SVT I test drove (which had stock suspension from what the dealer told me) and that thing drove alot tighter than my ST. Basically I want my car to ride more like the SVT (or Tiburon). I'm not sure what direction I should go, but I have, as far as I Can tell its either, or a combination of lowering sprigs, sway bars, and struts.

I don't necessarily need the ride to be stiffer, but I just want to eliminate most of the body roll. I think the sway bars will do it, but my friend said lowering springs will as well, but I'm just worried if my car rides like ass with lowering springs because I keep hearing that people who just toss those on without replacing the struts end of having a car that rides like ass.

Any input would be awesome.

The FRPP (ford racing performance parts) kit is really nice for what your looking for. it runs in the ballpark of 400.

Contact Mike at Hilbish ford. he is a vendor/sponsor of this site. he can get it for you at a good cost. there are other kits that may offer you more of what you want as well. there are many options out there for our cars.

Get some sway bars.. and/or stress bars. You don't really need shocks or springs. You could do something like Eibach 22mm front and progressive 22mm rear bar for a nice neutral dirve. I believe going up 1mm is something like 23% stiffer? Something like that.

What if I go bigger? I've been looking @ kits on the FS website, they offer 24mm bars front & back, but I imagine I'd be able to get the same thing for cheaper elsewhere. Any other Focus sites I should be lookin @ as well?

C-F-M and massive. You could go bigger. That lotus' philosophy, soft springs big sway bars. You could get something like the Eibach kit 22mm front and 25mm rear. You don't want much bigger than that..
