best tire size for 16"

i can't decide on which size to get for my 16x7 wheels.
i don't have any drop either.

205/50/16 - i think this is stock size, and slightly taller wheel

215/45/16 - wider tire but slightly shorter.

which tire is lighter in weight?

since i don't have any drop, will the 205/50/16 tires fill in the gap space more so than the shorter 215/45/16 tire or it doesn't matter?

I heard that 17" tires on a non-dropped car can make it LOOK LIKE it's dropped cuz the tires are taller (17").

Those two tires are very close in sidewall height. It wouldn't be noticable. I'd say if you want performance go for the little wider tire but if you want selection then the 205/50/16 well be the way to go.

the 215/45/16 is the taller of the two. plus its wider so more grip. thats what i go with. and 17's donsent make up for the fact that the car is not lowered. i know this first hand.

205/50/16 is the stock size.

the upsize in width to 215 and the downsize in the aspect ratio to 45 will result to almost the same hight in the tire to within a few mm.

so between the 2 sizes you have listed the change will be so minimal you proably wont be able to see it.

and 17" on a non dropped foci makes it look like a truck, yes 17" are taller of course but the wheel hub is .5-1" higher than where the 16" wheel hub would be
