Low profile and snow?

I want the low profile tires with the 17" rims, but it snows a lot in Flagstaff. Are there sport snow tires?? Or chains that fit? I want to get these things called Snowbootz (www.snobootz.com) But the smallest tire size they work on is 205/55 17" Rims. I was interested how large these tires look on 17s. What do you guys think?

Thanks

keep ur OEM rims and put snow tires on them, then get cool 17's or something. i wouldn't drive my 17's in snow.

Tire Rack will have 17" snows but lower profile tires tend to "push" snow instead of cutting through it. Snows will be better that regular tires though if you really want to keep your 17's on (I'd advise against it).
Couple weeks ago I came up on an accident at a redlight in the snow where one ricer had rear ended another and they both had their summer wheels and tires on. Bodykit pieces everywhere.

Forget about looks!!!! To get the best snow performance a narrower tire is always better. 205/55-16 works on stock wheels and is a pretty common and readily available/popular size. I doubt there is enough clearance in focus wheel wells for use of chains (might work on 195/60-15's with stock wheels and stock ride height but it will be close).

I ran 17's with all weather Conti's and it would go like a champ up to 7 inches of snow.

That was before the suspension and a DD... Now the Alero takes on the snow duties.
