Drum To Disc brake Conversion?

So i just helped my buddy do a drum to disc conversion on his 97 honda civic hatch today, only thing i hate is that honda has so many parts and they all can be used on like every honda. So he went to the junk yard and picked up some back discs and converted it.

I was wondering if anyone has done this to there focus and how hard it was to convert it?

People do drum to disk conversions on their Foci. Just look up the SVT brake kit.

I have been wanting to do that conversion for years. I haven't done it but the conversion looks pretty straight forward.

It's been done... hundreds of times. You can find kits on here for sale freaquently, and on ebay, like so -

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...FP:MOTORS:1123

I did the swap for my wagon, front and rear -

Front -

Stock knuckle on left, SVT on right -

It's the SVT Focus / Ford Racing Kit.

As indicated, lots of people have done the conversion for one reason or another. Most needed parts, unlike a honda, are pretty hard to find at the junk yard because not too many foci came with rear discs. The pickings can be slim and if you do find them not always cheap. In the long run, the new aftermarket SVT kits are the way to go as they are complete and reasonably priced. You can, however, make the disc/drum setup work almost as well for a lot less money, it's just not as pretty.
