Coilovers worth the extra cash?

Hey, I'm on my second year of auto-x'ing and with my new autox tires (dunlop direzza star specs), new street tires, and new rims for the autox tires running me a bit over a grand and me being poor & planning on doing some traveling this summer I don't think I'll be upgrading this year but wanna know where I should look for when I do. But who knows, I'll be making a lot more money in the summer so maybe I will do it sooner.

I could care less about the street ride, the total lack of feel (my dad's new f-150 has a better feel of the road!!!WTF!!) of the stock setup has me about with a gun to my head, or more appropriately a bolt cutter to the coils!

Right now the best decisions seem like H&R stuff. Either the sport Cup kit or their coilovers ( non-adjustable damper ones) and I'm curious if the coilovers are worth the extra ~$300. Or if there are any better (cheaper?) options out there. The car is still predominately going to be used for street driving, that being said my driving style is far from relaxed.

Any input appreciated.

Coilovers are nice but the ride can be a little harsh and I'm not positive, but that may throw you into a whole different class. If you're racing in Stock or Street Touring, I want to say it will bump you up to street mod? You'll have to check the rule book on that one. Otherwise if you don't mind a bumpy ride, sounds like fun to me.

coilovers are very firm. also they are really low. also , I love mine. I got a great deal on mine (Ford Racing aka KW, when they discontinued them)

DCL2049, they will not bump you into a different class. auto-x regs dont diferentiate between coilovers and spring/shock

Coilovers are ok for ST. I've heard nothing but good things about H&R.

I have H&R coilovers and I will say that they were not as harsh as I expected them to be. They ride pretty good for being so stiff, especially on the crappy, winter abused Michigan roads that I drive on.
