It won't ride as comfortably, but 18 with the right tire size shouldn't rub too much. I didn't like mine 18"s and went back to 17.

my car has a KW Coilover suspension kit on it and it is lowered 1 1/2 inches and i have HPD Spinouts 18"s on it and it is fine no rubbing or anything

you'll be much slower as well unless you get yourself some really light wheels.
