new rotors, pads, shoes

alright, time for new brakes, got some craping noise from front left, looked at th rotor is literally .. u could see black spots in it... so i got some questions:
1) do the pads and shoes should be matched? like same brand
2) i was gonna order hawks from cfm, but looks like id have to buy something locally, coz i cant drive like that... so its mostly for canadians what would be the best bet for brakes? im not looking into performance alot, so i dont want drilled or slotted or w.e. rotors could be..just something regular but reliable..
i can even prolly go to the states (like autozone or any other) coz i live like just across the river from detroit.. if its cheaper or better stuff for the same money.. so any help would be appreciated.

You won't have any problems with standard pieces if the brands are different. A friend of mine is the manager of an O'Rileys. He tells me that Wagner rotors have a life-time guarantee against warping. If they're warped beyond specs, you get new rotors....they don't just turn them.

That has to be the only brand I know about with that warranty....worth looking into.
