SVT Brake swap, the easiest part has become the hardest

Like the title says I'm in the middle of a front and rear SVT brake swap. Everything was going smoothly until I came to the axles in the front. First they took a little coercing to get out of the knuckle but they went, but when I put the svt knuckle in and inserted the axle it went about 2-3 inches in and stopped. Figured it was an issue of cleaning the spindle and axle so I redid it, with the same conclusion the p/s axle would stop going in after about 3 inches. My last option was for me to tighten the hub nut and try to "force" it through. Which worked up to a point where it became too hard to turn without the hub and just ended up with a messed up hub nut (axle threads are ok). Here are some pics:

Working only on the p/s so far.
The knuckle in question-

The inside- A little dirt got in after spraying from my hands

This is how far the stock one goes in by hand before resistance-

This is how far the svt one goes in before resistance-

any ideas?

Went ahead and did the rears, those were easy as pie. Still stuck on the p/s front. Gonna try d/s tomorrow.

Count the number of splines to see if there's the same amount?

Can you get a pic of the axle ends (both next to each other) so we can compare them?

Let me get this straight.
You have SVT knuckles (for the bigger brakes), but you need to fit the standard axles into them?

This is something I will be watching. Hope this gets resolved. I want to do this in the near future myself and I'm sure some kind of problem will come up that 'nobody else' has.

I feel your pain bro.

Yes, I've got the svt knuckles to add the bigger brakes and trying to stick the stock mtx75 axles into them.

When I did the conversion on my ZX3, I had the ZX3 hubs pressed out of the old spindles and into the new SVT ones. Although, when I got the SVT spindles they were from a junkyard and the SVT hubs both had one broken lug on them, so I had to swap them anyway. I don't know if that would solve the problem, but just offering the info...

Which axle is that in your pic?
And, where's the other one?
We'd like to compare the two (SVT and Standard) side by side, to see if there's any differences.
