Snow Tires for '08 Focus SES

A couple of questions here regarding snow tires for an '08 SES. The recommended tire size is P205/50R16.

1. Can I run a 15" wheel on the SES?
2. What would be the difference between a 15" snow tire and a 16" snow tire performance wise?
3. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

1. Yes, only SVT's can't run 15's
2. I really wouldn't think there's be much, maybe a taller sidewall if you went with a 15"
3. I have Dunlop WinterSport, and they are an excellent winter tire. Since you live in Montana I might recommend a more aggressive snow tire like Bridgestone Blizzaks. Pretty inexpensive for 15's, I think my buddy just paid $330 or something for his set.

Hope that helps some

the skinnier the tire, the better traction you will get in snow

With the 15 inch wheel you can run 195/60-15 a very popular size with reasonably good pricing. For a 16 inch wheel think about 205/55-16. Its a little taller than the 205/50 but not enough to cause problems. There's good selection in this size as well.
