My New Tires

I finally got rid of the Dealer-Installed Firestone Firehawk GT-H Rated tires for some Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring tires from a local shop, less than 10 minutes to do everything. Rather good tires, not as sharp in the handling dept, but better in the snow. 80,000 mile T-Rated tires for 95 bucks each, installed for 390. not too bad in my opinion. Weird thing is, this tire is normally reserved for OEM/Wal-Mart based sales, not for regular tire stores.

That comment is uncalled for. Uniroyal has been an American tire company for over one hundred years. Living in Ohio you should be aware of that. While never known for making high performance tires they provided competent OEM tires during that time and still do today. If you're referring to Michelin (as the "French" company), I doubt they would allow any tire company they own produce a "shit brand". A less costly one true but, that doesn't equate to "sh__" in my book.

$95 each???? Damn you could have had some Falkens or Kumho's or something better for that price. I paid $75 each for my Falken 512's last year. Continental Conti-Extremes are a far superior tire and about the same price, granted they would ware alittle faster but be much better in the wet, dry and light snow.

If You like 'Em, enjoy. But I got Bridgestone Potenza g009 rubbers for $350 installed. Of course I wont be driving in snow, so this may be a decent winter tire set for You.

I went with uniroyal due to family history of having them, my moms 97 escort had 185/65R14 tiger paws and never really had a problem, and i heard Kuhmo is not that good from some people. I went with brand recgonition, Uniroyal to me is a safe bet.

Tigerpaw is a good tire, my dad had them on his truck and it went through alot of things that other tires might have gotten stuck in.
