Want to lower 1"

I would like to lower my zx5.
I don't want a huge drop would prefer 1" as I don't want to get into alignment issues or extra spending on camber or whatever.
Like the idea of the SVT kit but .5" is nothing.

Was thinking if I could find 1" springs then I could put them on svt struts/shocks without having strut top out issues and also buy a rear swaybar seperately. Sound reasonable? Any suggestions?

SVT will lower you about .75 inches. It is a noticeable difference compared to stock in the handling department.

Don't be afraid of going lower. I just went 1.5 and I can barley notice it. I can go over speed bumps with no problems. I carry tools and parts in the trunk. If you need to adjust Camber the bolts cost $30.00. And you will have to pay for allignment even is it's only 1 inch.

sysmex is right i had a 1989 s10 i did a 1 in drop and was noticable, but then i wanted to go lower so i did 2 more inches, and had to spend the money twice.

Yup I just got some Eibach springs. Lowers front like 1.3" and rear 1.6". I am now saving for a complete new shock and damper kit, this one. Becuase like they said, If you lower without new struts and shocks, they will crap out and you will end up having to do it all over again. You may even mess up more stuff. If you are gonna do something, do it 100 percent.

Guys, if you'll notice, he lives in Canada. Probably has some snow to deal with, so when he says he doesn't wanna drop it much, he's likely got his reasons.

I don't know about your mix-and-match idea with the 1 inch springs and SVT shocks/struts, because frankly I don't know how much luck you'll have finding springs that only lower one inch. And Sysmex is right, even with a minor drop, you'll want to get an alignment. Although I doubt the SVT kit will require camber bolts or plates.

I've ordered an SVT kit. It's 3/4" of an inch drop, but keep in mind it's nothing to sneeze at; Edmunds (I believe it was) put a stock SVT Focus against a Subi WRX, and the Focus prevailed in the 60-foot slalom. Ford put a lot of money into developing that suspension, PLUS it's from Ford, so you know it's good for your Focus. And you get warranty.

ALSO Mike at Hilbish can hook you up with the complete set (shocks, struts, springs already installed, and all necessary hardware) for under three hundred dollars! </plug>

lol no don't get much snow here. Vancouver is about as south on the west coast as I can get. Get snow on the mountains but not much in the city. I just don't want to have to crawl over bumps have already heard my shiny new exhaust get a bang over a large speed bump already. If I do decide on new suspension will definately be the SVT kit and rear sway.

i know that people say don't, but you can cut ur springs a little. so if you get the svt, take 1/4 inch off and ur set!! you won't bottom out, too much and you will, but you will be fine!
