because i am going to have multiple wheel/tire combos, and i dont feel like having it reset each time i switch them. i check my tire pressure weekly, so i dont really feel like the tpms is doing me any good anyways

Check and see if it has its own dedicated fuse.

why not just buy the sensors and bands, then all you have to do is drive around at 15 mph for a minute or 2 and it resets itself, not that difficult and i imagine ford probably runs the tpms fuse through something a bit more important to prevent people from doing such an activity.

You can not disable the tpms system. Mandated by federal law, huge fines if someone tries to disable it. They will take away your firstborn child and send you to labor camps for 3000 years. I am sure there is a way to keep the light from comming on by cutting the signal wire or something to that effect but there is no way to "turn it off".

From the 08' Ford Fous Workshop Manual:

The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) monitors the air pressure of all 4 road tires. The wheel-mounted tire pressure sensors transmit via radio frequency signals, to the smart junction box (SJB). TPMS functionality is integral to the SJB. These transmissions are sent approximately every 60 seconds when the vehicle speed exceeds 32 km/h (20 mph). The TPMS function compares each tire pressure sensor transmission against a low-pressure limit. If it has been determined that the tire pressure has fallen below this limit, the SJB communicates this on the vehicle communication bus to the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster then illuminates the TPMS indicator and displays the appropriate message(s) in the message center (if equipped).
