TyrolSport Brake Caliper Stiffening Kits

My friend with a 2000 VW GTI sent me this link a while back for TyrolSport Brake Caliper Stiffening Kit, after looking at his brakes and the one on my SVT we noticed there both ATE Calipers and are pretty similar in design, but not identical. He was going to get a set of these stiffeners so I figured I would try them on my car first, and they are an exact fit

The one thing I did noticed after installing them is the caliper has a lot less play in the carrier, my car has over 100K and Iím sure the original bushings have worn a good bit over time. So I can only imagine eliminating is a benefit.

Also I almost positive they will fit the all other Focus front brake calipers.

The helmet has a special meaning for many drivers. How important is it to you? - It protects my head.

Do you have any special rituals when the helmet is concerned like many have? - I wipe it so that I can see better.

if you notice, the stock ones have grease divots in them...
these are left completely exposed to the elements, they'll be stiff alright after a couple rains and dusty roads.

actually, those bushings are just where the rods from the opposite side of the caliper slide into so they can adjust with the wear of the pads, all the stiffener does is take out the side to side play from hard braking, versus the give of the soft plastic inserts, great in theory but i doubt even an f1 racer would notice the difference in performance

I haven’t had a problem with them, they have been on the car for 6 months. You do have to grease them well when installed.

They give more a more even pad wear, the company that make them has done a good it of testing. VW guys and Mustang owners have been running these for a several years.
