tire rub question?

currently i have 215/35/R18 tires and i have the SVT suspension installed. one of my tires blew out so i am looking into getting new tires and was wondering if i could upgrade to a sidewall size of 40 without having rubbing issues. any help would be greatly appreciated.

well i looked up tire sizes online ( tirerack.com) and i cant find the
over all dia. for the 215/40/18 but i did find the
over all dia. for the 215/35/18 and it is 23.9-24"

now my car is not lowered but i have a over all dia. of 25.1 and i dont have any problems
the most problems that i have heard of are from lovering the car 2.4" or more so as i guess from my looking on this site that if ur not going to expand more than 2.4" inches and the svt sets at the same hight as a normal ses that i have then ur going to be ok

but just for a example if a SVT sets 1.5" lower ( and that sounds right but i dont know for sure ) then i would not get a tire with more than 0.9" larger over all dia. i would think u shouldnt have too may problems

on my car i went 24.1" over all dia. to 25.1" over all dia so i have 1.3" or clearance

I actually ordered the 215/40/18 tires for ^ above last night from tirerack (hes my brother) and they just called me this morning saying that what I ordered is about an inch higher than what they usually recommend. They probably arent even taking in account that the car is lowered ~.75" So I put the shipment on hold. Can any with 215/40/18 size tires confirm asap if they will fit, rub, or bottom out? Thanks
