Rear strut bar measurement

Could someone measure their rear strut bar and give me the length?

Thanks,

John

With mine installed it measures 41 inches give or take a 16th from each side. I am not going to take it out and measure it cause it was a you know what to get in. I am guessing it is more like 41 1/4 because of the little raised parts that extend out to accept the bolts on either side. Whats the reason you want to know?

And yes it is supposed to be an extremely tight fit as you are to use the carpet on either side as spacers between the bar and the body itself. It took a jack lifting the entire rear side of the car off the ground, me and one of my friends to muscle it into position and bolt it in. But it sure was worth it.

Thanks for the info, I bought a bar on the site and it didn't seem to fit so I was looking for a measurement to confirm I wasn't crazy. The bar he sold me is 43 inches so I'd say that it wasn't what he advertised even though he ensures that it was for a focus. Possibly for a wagon since they are different.

Thanks,

John

hmmm. I can't find a site anywhere that links me to that product on google. I dunno what to tell ya. I looked in my owners manual and the only differences as far as measurements given between the zx3,4,5, and wagon is height and length. Everything else is the same so I am not sure what dictates the bar fitting and not. Although focussports website does say that their bar will not fit the wagon so i dunno. I can't imagine that a company would make a bar just for the wagon and not the others. Who knows. Is there any way you can contact the seller and ask if it was bought for a wagon or not?

Well, I just took all the panels and carpet out of my hatch to see where to mount it. While I can see the place that everyone seems to mount it, there is NO way this bar will fit there. It is at least a 1 1/2 too long. it will set on the top of the strut towers with 3/4 of an inch on each side. I think the fellow that sold this to me just didn't realize what he had and thought that it fits the focus. I really wanted this to fit because I've heard it really improves the rear. i doubt he'll take it back, but I'll ask. Thanks for your help.
