I had hawk blues on my rally car (rally cars have to be street legal as they are driven on public roads during events). Had them for one day. Little did I know how much heat you needed in them to make them work. First couple of stops can be real interesting especially at low street speeds, therefore, I would not recommend them for the street. They are a serious RACE brake and a pretty good one too.

WeeAsp, are they still hard on rotors. Years ago they were known for eating them pretty quickly. From friends, I hear using blues on the front and blacks (that HP not HPS) on the rear results in a good race combo.

That said, I'd vote for the HPS of the Hawk choices for the street. Other good options are Mintex AF and Porterfield R4S. Both make a matching rear shoe if you still have rear drums.
