IDK it depends on how fast of an impact it was. Don't they usually do them at like 40 and 60 mph?

That crash test was at 40 mph and yes compare to the others the focus looked the worst of all.

Wow, did you see all that spalling from the glass?? Yikes.
This is the reason why insurace rates are so high for the Foucs, especially for the ZX3, which would fare even worse with a 40 mph side impact.

bah, so few impacts occur at a direct 90 degree angle centered on the B-pillar that this test is irrelevant. Show me the offset front crash and the rear end impact. Aren't Foci available with side impact bags now?

I was surprised at the amount of intrusion both in the front and in the rear, more than I thought in the front, less than I thought in the rear.

BTW... spalling? It's tempered glass, it's supposed to shatter on impact.

Yikes. Maybe I should have bought an Escape or something. I'll have to keep an eye open in those intersections.

looks just like the wreck i had in my 93 escort 3 door. i looked to my left and saw the bowtie emblem of a 3500 crew cab 4x4 doing 30mph. the door was caved in about 2 and a half feet, my seet was about where the center console should have been. after sliding sideways 150 feet, i took my seatbelt off, crawled over to the passenger door, and let myself out. couple scrapes and banged up knee, but thats it. wow, just like that focus, brings back memories. lol, kinda
