Nah. We were thinking, that if he will be able to drive a GT with enormous hard clutch ( I'm comparing it to my ZX3 ) then driving the smaller car would be easier. And it was! He said that Focus is very easy to drive :) And I have Stage 2 clutch ;).

Haha I was just teaching one of my friends how to drive my Focus last night. He's never driven a manual before but he did alright.

I found the easiest way to get used to it is to slowly let up on the clutch without gassing it, just to find where the clutch grabs. Once you get used to it, downshifting and rev matching is the next thing to figure out.

I taught myself how to drive a stick in about 20 minutes. 95 contour V6 MTX. Such a fun car to drive, while they last.

Only stalled the thing twice! Once was becuase i gave it a little too much gas, then let off as i was starting out (pretty common), and the second time i was actually in third....not first, lol

Now he was smoking some rubber there LOL. I guess we've all been through that. Hence I remember being 17 at the military, instructor walks up to me, hands me keys and says, you see that huge tractor trailer there, get in and go....
No lessons, no fuss, just had to climb in and go, you can imagine what a disaster that first drive was.
I wonder why driving schools don't make you drive stick to begin with, once you know that, you can practically drive anything. I have no issues driving whatever but my buddy can't even downshift neither rev match, he puts the thing in neutral and then slows down
