You think ur turbo fofo is fast?

I don't know about most of america thats in love with NASCAR b/c their cars aren't really that fast....it has nothing on the premier that is Formula1. Now everybody knows a Ferrari 550 Marnello is a fast car...and the lil Fiat hatch in this video i believe is almost as quick a focus SVT....but to really see how fast, fast really is...watch the video down below. Keep in mind this video is several years old and that modern f1 cars are even faster and better handling. And yes that is 7 time world champion Michael Schumacher driving.

Neither do i...their cars are still based on 60's technology...carburated v8's with almost no modertechnology....i think the highest tech part in teh car is the han's device b/c it's made from carbon fiber lol. A high Nascar team budget is 8 million a season........which by f1 standards woudn't even cover the cost of developing an engine.....teams like Ferrari and McClaren spend about 500 million a year.....hell the design of the each car costs about 200 million and they cost about 2 million to build....avg nascar race car price....200,000. And thats mostly on labor to build the chasis out of steel tubing....

NASCAR....DRIVE FAST TURN LEFT!!

Eh it ain't bout the car it's about the race, pretty much every NASCAR is the same, so it does really come down to driver and luck, To each their own.

get er done NASCAR.

haha

And NASCAR is more about marketing then motorsports if you haven't noticed.
Does quite a good job of it too.

i'm not much of a nascar fan but at the end of the day driving a car at 200MPH inches from another car takes skill.

plus it doesnt matter if the budget is 1 million or 1 billion they get paid to drive at insane speeds!!!!

^^ I will agree that it would be cool to Be a driver and get paid for it but I dont get America's obsession with it. Im not trying to put down NASCAR but I wanta know why hasnt F1 racing become just as popular here?

I've always seen racing as being the pinnacle in what car performance and technology should be....nascar is just marketing of old technology...and i never said it doesn't take skill to drive at those speeds that close....but it takes a lot more skill to go from 50 to 200 back down to 50 and maintain that speed all while turning in different directions and different radiuses.

Nascar i guess is like a tape 10 songs from the 80's while F1 is the Iphone.

matter of taste really, nascar vs. F1 is. Its all about the roots. Nascar has its history in middle america, and appeals to the old american ideals of heavy cars with big, simple motors. f1 has its history in europe, sleek and sexy. old habits die hard.

doesnt mean either series is superior, or that one takes more skill than the other. In both cases, race cars are being pushed to their own limitations and that is ALWAYS difficult. In nascar you have heavy cars at high speed that dont grip terribly well. F1, small cars with grip at insane speeds. both cases, the cars or on the edge of control.

just different cups of tea

as far as the nascar rage, its all about accessibility. nascar runs 100% in america, and 40 someodd weeks per year. its everywhere, and the drivers get tons of on air time, and people really get to see their personalities. therefore, people develop loyalties and watch races. how often do we get to see f1 races. there are less races per year (i think), and everything seems less accessible from all the way over here. people dont have enough exposure to it to get involved. plus, its been this way so long, it makes it hard for different styles of racing to catch on, cause loyalties are already established, thats why cart/irl does so poorly.
