yeah i got to sit in one not too long ago. remotivated me to start saving for one.
only i think that i am serious this time.
haha but i would need to save like 10k, seeing as how they are worth just as much now, as they were when originally released.
FocusSport also supports them.
my dream:
-r32 and stg 2 supercharged from FS (ES[eurosport.acc])

honestly i think that if i buckle down and am serious. i can get it by next christmas.. haha

I know a guy with one (R32), and he doesn't like it too much. The last time I talked with him, it had problems w/ over heating (under normal conditions), and he said that every time he went over RR tracks by his work, the car would sputter and almost die. I am sure the dealer can help him out (his car isn't modded so waranty is 100% ok), but that kind of stuff shouldn't happen on a new car that costs that much

Another friend has a VR6, and she swears she will never buy another VW.

I still want one.

Those GTI's are HOT, and I would love to drive an A3 (but they atleast $35k with AWD and DSG)

haha, i would rather have an r32. not sure why. they are obviously much more rare than the others. and slower, but still, i just loved them since i saw one like 3 years ago.

how much i am in love with the r32 doesnt take away from the fact that its over priced and underdeveloped...so much more potential than what you get imo

but it will be more dependable than both the sti and evo.. they arnt known for there reliability.
the r32 would be a better daily driver IMO. perhaps a little slower, but it is still AWD and would be a blast to drive and definently faster than my focus
i think that the r32 is more practical and comfortable to drive than bothe sti and evo.

Subarus are VERY reliable across the board. I see old ones in the paper with 200k+ on them all the time. Mitsubishis with 4g63 motors are indestructable. No WAY that R32 is more reliable. VW is not the brand it once was (if it ever was) remember the oil leaking new bugs? They tried to play it off like it was designed that way (to consume oil).

The other thing I was suprised to here from the FOAF with the R32 is that it is slow. He wanted to sell it to buy an STi.

BTW R32's use a non-locking viscous coupled center diff. This means that they are FWD until they lose traction, then power gets sent rearward. This is better than FWD, but it is nothing like the setups on the STi's and Evo's.

I'll give you comfort though (and interior quality) My buddy's STi is not far from riding in a wooden rollercoaster. He has an aftermarket suspension, and his girlfriend said it was nowhere near as harsh before (stock). It will, however, take care of most any R32 rolling around here
