With the light on that means traction control is off. It mentions that in your owners manual.

even if you hit the tracion off on the svt, it doesnt fully disable tc... why? i dunno.. just doesnt.. only thing that will fix it is pulling #46(or 48) fuse, which also takes out the abs(not a great idea for long term, just for burnouts :) or to get a tune.

Tunes do the same thing pulling the fuse will. Randy at FS explained to me that the TCS system is directly tied into the abs braking module (sence it how it stops the wheel spin with the breaks) SO if you disable the TC with a flash you wont have abs at all.

While it doesnt totally disable TC, for most people purposes(like rocking a car out of snow) it works just fine by pressing the button. Also most people dont drive there car hard enough or on a auo-x course where that may effect you adversly.

I make too much power for the TC to be active...Ive seen my light blink (fighting to work to keep wheels from spinning). On or Off, I over power it and I love it. TC sucks for drag racing.

^^^Not true for 02, 03, and most 04 models.
ABS is left intact with the TC defeat in the tune.
(At least both Wayne (Hypnotic Illusions - defunct) and Tom (Focus Power) were able to do it)

Where the ABS comes into play is on the late build 04 models.
(I know...I've got one)
Now, those cars have the problem with losing ABS when defeating the TC.
And, since the ABS is a safety feature, no one's going to sell a tune that kills it due to liability issues.

Oh, on stock SVT's:
TC does turn completely off above 20mph when the button is pushed.
It's that damnedable under 20mph that's the problem.

I am must be one of those that is a late build. Kinda gay but I still tore up Deals gap with the traction off, I didnt see it hinder my driving, now with it on you def could.

I have the 03 SVTF with some slight mods, and my car will run the 1/4 mile quicker with the TC off (when the light is on) than when the TC is on(when the light is off). Why is this?

Because, the TC isn't kicking in with the brakes and timing retard to stop wheel spin.
You bet you'll get better times.
Launching with TC on bites the big one.

What about 05-07 Focus STs with traction control? Does it shut off completely when you press the button or is there that sub-25 mph BS?

My 00 Vic has Trac Ctrl and the switch shuts it off completely. I know because I've drag raced and never had the TC kick in when I disabled it using the switch.
