Question recomended exhaust

Hey new to ff here. I have a 04 svt, currrently I have hacked off the resonator, put in a straight through muffler, and y piped it to duals. my question is; is this robbing my horsepower from not enough back pressure? I swear it seems like it did, but it could all be in my head. plus, its way to loud. was good at first but now that its broken in, it sound way too, how do you say it, honda-e. anybody not get a cat back but still get good sound and hp gains? from experience dual can give a much deeper sound and looks balanced too. Is this totally bogus?

the stock unit is near perfect. slapping on a after market one will only net small gains. Most folks here only change the exhuast for a certain exhuast note they are after.

Most likely you are robbing your setup pending if you had it properly built or was a just a hack job

I would spend your money elsewhere, intake, tune etc etc. Exhaust doesnt do that much as far as performance. Aftermarket sounds better is really why most get it. If you are going to, a custom setup from a good exhaust shop will most likely be much cheaper and just as affective. And it is a good chance you lost some low-mid range power from lack of backpressure.

simply replace the middle muffler with a Borla [keep the first resonator], and have the rest custom bent and a tip of your choice. this is what i will be doing sometime soon.

Yeah, do what scrammer said, or just get a Borla catback, and I'd only recommend that if you really want to change it because of the sound of it. Like SVT_BMXer said, you should spend your money on more worth while mods like a tune, where you will actually get a differance in power and driveability that's worth the money.
