second pic of engine bay idea

here is a diagram of the engine bay which would allow air to circulate around the duct while also going in the duct from the vent. air could reach the intake on the sides and in the top of the cone: here it is:

i don't understand what your trying to do? are you trying to make a air vent so that you can get colder air to the air box?

def not ghetto

1. the drawing is ghetto cause i had to redo it to fit it on this fn website. so that takes care of that.
2. don't knock it. this is very functional. at acceleration the air will be basically pushed to the back of the vent and forced down into the duct forcing it to travel directly to the cone. almost a ramming effect. no, im not calling this "RAM AIR" like HONDAHATER did, but it will have that effect because of the downforce.
3. air will also be able to circulate freely from underneath the car to the intake around the duct to get to the sides of the cone as well.
4. finally, as mentioned, cooler air will be introduced to the equation, though not intended originally.

i hope that clears things up for you guys. give me some more feed back.

This is my interpretation on your idea (although I have since fabricated and welded an engine shield to isolate some of the engine temperature from the filter) ...........I like your idea though
