Clucth problem

I was going to a wedding today, and it looks like what I though the clucth burnt out. Ok here's the symptoms. If you push the clutch in it's like nothing is there. It flops around like a broken arm. If you put it in gear push the clucth in to try to start it, the car jumps, so does that mean the clucth still works, and something else is wrong? Is a 2004 SVT hydro or cable operated clucth. If it is cable could the cable have broke? The car was shifting fine then it quit shifting all together. I need help,

Thanks

It sounds like you cables popped off, open the hood and look below the the brake booster on the transmission you "should" be able to see the linkage and cables there.

EDIT: I have no clue what I "thought" i read...

The SVT has I believe a hydraulic clutch, you may want to check the end of the pedal where it connects under the dash... the clutch pedal is plastic and it may have broken.

It's hydraulically operated. Not sure what you mean by "floppin like a broken arm" . There is a pivot point on the pedal. First check the break resevoir for fluid. Could be Slave is shot, or the fingers on the clutch are broken and wont disengage. Get out your checkbook..... Still under warrantee??

No warrantee ran out two days ago. Does the clutch run off the brake fluid resevoir? Where is the slave cylinder located? Flopping like a broke arm meaning when you push it it's like pushing air.

Clutch and brake both use the same resevoir but have different master cylinders. The clutch slave is in the transmission. Master is above the pedal.

1st thing I'd do is check your fluid level. Then look for fluid on your clutch pedal (bad master). Then bleed the clutch. It's the hydraulic line running across the front of the transmission right below the battery.

... Hey J...
Yeah the bleeder is a "brake Bleeder" looking thing on the top of the bell housing, most likely with a little black rubber dust cover on it....

Just as a update, it looks like fluid leaking from where the motor bolts to the trany. Am I'm correct to say it looks like the slave is busted. I'll put fluid in and bleed, but if it starts pouring out, it would be a good guess to say the slave is broke rigth.

Ok it's the slave cylinder. Any ideas on how to fix this? Is it easy to get out, or do I need to take it to a garage?

EASY...?? not, but It's relative. The trans has to be separated and dropped, clutch removed.. You might want to consider replacing the clutch as well. You sure you can't get it covered under warantee....? big ticket item..
